Job description

Job Title:

Senior IT Scrum Master

Location:

What you'll do:

As an IT Scrum Master, you'll be responsible for leading Agile teams in the successful delivery of IT project by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, and fostering a collaborative team environment. In this role, you'll also act as a servant leader to ensure the team follows Agile principles, maintains focus on delivering high-value outcomes, and continuously improve processes. As the IT Scrum Master, you'll utilize excellent collaboration and communication skills to resolve, escalate, or eliminate impediments in order to focus on building high-performing teams across the technology towers.
  • Guide and coach Agile teams on Scrum practices and principles to enhance team performance. Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. Support the Product Owner in managing the product backlog and ensuring clarity of requirements.
  • Remove impediments and blockers that hinder team progress. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team. Shield the team from external distractions to maintain focus on sprint goals.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders and leadership. Align team deliverables with organizational goals and priorities. Facilitate collaboration between teams in multi-team environments.
  • Monitor team performance using Agile metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, and cycle time. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and product delivery. Utilize Agile tools (e.g. Azure DevOps) to manage sprint progress and team workflows. Ensure documentation of sprint activities, including lessons learned and retrospective action items.
  • Execute some project management activities such as financial management and sprint reporting.

What you'll need:

  • 8+ years of related experience as a Scrum Master, Project Management or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred; particularly in leading and mentoring Agile teams
  • Entry level knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced experience working as a IT Scrum Master utilizing strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as demonstrating the ability to build relationships with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Intermediate experience in successful project delivery using Agile methodologies in addition to working with Agile project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, or Workfront).
  • Familiarity with IT systems, system development life cycle (SDLC), and DevOps practices.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent certification required.
  • SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or advanced Agile certifications required.
  • Project Management Professional Certification, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Fundamentals, or Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge preferred.
  • Occasional travel required.
