Location: Rensselaer, IN
Employment Type: 2nd Shift, Full-time, direct-hire
Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a welding supervisor for our client. This job is responsible for providing direct supervision over the welding department, ensuring that a quality product is provided in a cost efficient and timely manner. They will also ensure the planning and utilization of equipment, facilities and personnel to meet production goals.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
  • Direct welding personnel including scheduling adherence, policy and procedure administration and documentation of all areas of responsibilities
  • Adherence to the company’s quality policies, standards, and procedures
  • Provide workflow management, planning, mechanical expertise and analysis and training necessary to operate department in a clean, safe, and productive manner
  • Manage troubleshooting activity including systematic resolution of problem, coordination of team, resources and communication of progress to appropriate management, always ensuring that the customer needs are met
  • Review daily production log while ensuring that the production schedule is being followed and met
  • Communicate and motivate to maintain and improve personnel performance through listening skills, meeting skills, appraisals, progressive discipline and quality practices
  • Review and approve employee timecards and schedules, including overtime management.
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
  • Welding Supervisors need a strong background in welding, specifically with all MIG welding
  • Welding Supervisors need a minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience
  • Experience in trailer manufacturing a plus
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
  • Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
  • Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Communication skills.
