Job description

Title: Associate

Reports to: Partner

Salary Range: $145,000 - $165,000, commensurate with experience.

Location(s): Open to fully remote or hybrid work based out of our Philadelphia, New York City, or Washington, D.C. offices


Klasko Immigration Law Partners, LLP is seeking an associate with 4+ years of experience in employment-based immigration law matters. You will join our higher volume corporate practice, emphasizing H-1B, L-1, TN, PERM matters, adjustment of status applications with the opportunity to lead a team of paralegals and junior associates and manage relationships with corporate clients.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Counsel clients and oversee high-volume of employment-based immigration cases including immigrant and non-immigrant cases with USCIS, DOL, and the Department of State.
  • Prepare immigration petitions and applications, including assessing eligibility, analyzing relevant legal issues, and developing evidence.
  • Draft, review and/or revise H-1B, L-1, and TN and other petitions/applications, PERM Labor Certification audit responses and complex RFEs for filing with the USCIS.
  • Draft persuasive correspondence to relevant administrative agencies and respond to requests for evidence.
  • Conduct PERM cycle placement and reduction-in-force analyses to support client workforce planning.
  • Conduct in depth research to support cases and projects with large corporate clients.
  • Develop expert level understanding of your client base and industries that you support.
  • Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information and support client projects.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural, case processing issues and case strategy.
  • Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
  • Delegate and supervise the work of junior associates and paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation.
  • Contribute to the development of practice processes to ensure the team operates efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Bar admission
  • Prior corporate account management experience
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a client-friendly focus
  • Willingness to learn and take on added responsibilities
  • Ability to show initiative and work as part of a team
  • Ability to edit work of paralegals and support staff
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with immigration-specific case management software a plus
  • Excellent time management skills
