$41.10 - $61.65
Per Diem Nursing Supervisor RN
Condell Medical Center
Night Shift.
Collaborates with physicians, nurses and patient care areas regarding activities related to bed management and staffing within the hospital. Ensures that patients admitted to the hospital meet the requirements for acute care, and are assigned to the appropriate level of care. To facilitate for the provision of quality care to the patient in the appropriate environment. Serves as supervisor in the absence of administrative personnel. Evaluates and facilitates resolution of administrative issues based on established hospital policies and procedures.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates bed utilization by overseeing the maintenance of all patient flow, capacity management and bed availability in order to expedite quality patient care through collaboration with Patient Registration, Physicians, Nursing division and other patient care areas
  • Maintains ongoing operations of the hospital during the absence of administrative personnel.
  • Responsible for daily staffing resource allocation in the absence of staffing coordinator, following Workforce Optimization guidelines, productivity measures and unit based staffing grids.
  • Responsible for personal and professional growth and development. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and others practicing in a Shared Governance model of nursing practice. Ensure quality of care to patients and families.

Licensure:
  • Nurse, Registered (RN)

Education/Experience Required:
  • - RN licensure, BSN preferred. - Graduate from accredited school of nursing - 3-5 years clinical experience - Active participation in hospital committees • BSN preferred, AND with agreement to enroll in BSN completion program within two years of hire date and to be completed within four years of hire date. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • - Appropriate clinical skills - Cooperates and works well with others - Basic management skills - Team building skills - Communication skills - Basic computer skills
  • - Current RN licensure in State of Illinois - CPR Certification -ACLS, PALS for triage component of the role.

Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • - Resiliency and flexibility to deal with a changing environment - Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations - May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases - Ability to move patients -Walking rounds required to facilitate optimal coordination of bed placement.
  • If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
