Director-Clinical Education and Academic Affairs

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Indiana University Health leadership team in the role of Director of Clinical Education and Academic Affairs.

The Director of Clinical Education and Academic Affairs provides strategic leadership for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of clinical education, workforce training, and academic partnership initiatives across IU Health. This leader serves as the primary liaison between IU Health, educational institutions, and clinical leaders to strengthen workforce pipelines, expand clinical training capacity, and ensure alignment between academic preparation and workforce needs. The Director leads strategies that support student learning, expand program offerings with the HSE Department, credential attainment, and workforce readiness for critical clinical occupations. The leader collaborates closely with operational, nursing, physician, allied health, human resources, and academic stakeholders to address current and future workforce demands. This Director provides oversight for online program development, accreditation, annual reporting, and program review processes for multiple clinical training programs.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

  • Master's Degree is required.
  • Requires 8 plus years of relevant experience.
  • Requires 4 years of people leader experience.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license or a related allied health license in the state of Indiana.
  • Requires knowledge of adult education principles and applications.
  • Requires progressive leadership experience in healthcare education, workforce development, academic affairs, clinical education, or talent development.
  • Requires experience developing and managing academic partnerships.
  • Requires experience managing program accreditation, compliance, clinical placement, and regulatory requirements.
  • Requires experience overseeing clinical education programs across multiple disciplines.
