What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Workforce Disruption Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Workforce Disruption Specialist, you need expertise in change management, organizational development, and a solid understanding of labor laws and workforce analytics, usually supported by a degree in human resources or business. Familiarity with HRIS platforms, project management tools, and data analysis systems is commonly required, along with relevant certifications like SHRM-SCP or Prosci. Outstanding communication, conflict resolution, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for guiding organizations and employees through periods of change. These abilities ensure the effective navigation and mitigation of workforce disruptions, promoting organizational resilience and employee engagement.

How does a Workforce Disruption Specialist typically collaborate with other departments during organizational change?

A Workforce Disruption Specialist works closely with HR, management, and communications teams to ensure smooth transitions during periods of organizational change, such as mergers, layoffs, or restructuring. They facilitate clear communication, provide support to affected employees, and help design transition plans that minimize operational disruptions. Regular meetings and cross-departmental workshops are common, allowing specialists to address concerns, gather feedback, and coordinate resources effectively. This collaborative approach helps ensure that workforce disruptions are managed proactively and empathetically.

What is workforce disruption?

Workforce disruption refers to significant changes that impact the structure, roles, or functions of a company's workforce. These changes can be caused by factors such as technological advancements, economic shifts, organizational restructuring, or unexpected events like pandemics. Workforce disruption can lead to job displacement, the need for reskilling, and changes in how and where employees work. Organizations often respond to workforce disruption by developing new strategies for talent management and adopting flexible work models.

Job description

Lifted is the first talent, country, and contract-agnostic contingent workforce management solution, giving enterprises a unified way to source, contract, manage, and pay any type of contingent talent, anywhere in the world. Today, contingent work runs through fragmented systems and providers, creating inefficiency, compliance risks, and limited visibility. We're here to change that. By combining technology and global services into one seamless solution, we help enterprises hire faster, operate with confidence, and gain live visibility across all external talent.

One solution. Global. Compliant. Seamless. Learn more at go-lifted.com and follow us on LinkedIn.

We're hiring a Senior HR Business Partner to support key business leaders across Lifted, partnering closely with leadership to drive people strategy, organizational effectiveness, and day-to-day execution. This role will own end-to-end HR support across Lifted, partnering with a wide range of teams and business functions while acting as a trusted advisor and operator to ensure alignment between business priorities and people outcomes.

You'll operate in a fast-moving, evolving environment with competing priorities and changing organizational needs. This role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, operate independently, and build trust across cross-functional stakeholders and drive progress in environments where systems and support structures are still evolving.

Responsibilities:

Business Partnership & Execution

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing guidance on organizational design, team effectiveness, and people strategy
  • Operate as an extension of senior HR leadership, representing the People function in high-impact conversations and driving decisions forward
  • Own day-to-day HR support for assigned teams, ensuring alignment between business priorities and people outcomes
  • Drive accountability across leaders and teams, ensuring follow-through on key initiatives and decisions

Organizational Effectiveness & Talent

  • Lead workforce planning, org design, and talent development efforts aligned to business goals
  • Partner with leaders to identify gaps, improve team performance, and strengthen overall organizational health
  • Support talent lifecycle processes including performance management, engagement, and compensation planning

Change Management & Communication

  • Lead and support change initiatives, ensuring clear communication and alignment while minimizing disruption to the business.
  • Support leaders through high-impact changes and complex organizational challenges, ensuring thoughtful decision-making and effective execution.
  • Navigate sensitive workforce matters with sound judgment and a balanced, pragmatic approach

Insights & Prioritization

  • Leverage data, tools, and available inputs (leveraging AI where appropriate) to inform decisions, identify trends, and support leaders in addressing people and organizational challenges.
  • Identify the highest-impact areas of focus and prioritize accordingly, balancing short-term needs with long-term outcomes
  • Translate insights into actionable plans that drive measurable results

What it takes to catch our eye:

  • Strong HRBP experience supporting business leaders in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Experience operating with ambiguity and managing competing priorities with limited structure
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility
  • Excellent judgment and prioritization skills, with the ability to independently identify and focus on high-impact work
  • Resourceful and solutions-oriented, able to navigate constraints and drive progress without relying on fully built systems
  • Proven ability to build trust and alignment across cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable shifting between strategic thinking and hands-on execution
  • Familiarity with leveraging AI tools and data to improve efficiency and decision-making
  • Comfortable operating in environments where systems, processes, and support structures are still evolving.

Lift Your Career. Shape the Future of Work.

Our Mission: Unify contingent work. Elevate how it gets done. This isn't just a promise to clients, it's how we work at Lifted. Every feature we build, every client interaction we have, and every team decision we make is a chance to reduce fragmentation and set a new standard for efficiency, quality, and impact. We're not just building technology, we're building the new standard for how enterprise companies engage talent.

This is the right place for you if you are motivated by ambitious goals, ready to do what it takes to win, boldly curious in asking questions and exploring better ways forward, and dedicated to following through on your commitments. You'll thrive here if you raise the bar for yourself and others, collaborate across teams, and help others succeed so we can achieve our shared mission.

This may not be the right place for you if you're uncomfortable with constructive feedback, prefer rigid structure, shy away from high expectations and accountability, or find it difficult to adapt in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

We operate with the agility of a startup and the impact of a global enterprise. Our values - trust, innovation, curiosity, excellence, and ownership - guide how we work and fuel the culture we're building together. And while our mission is big, growth here is both company-wide and personal, creating opportunities to learn fast, take ownership, and build a career that helps shape the future of work.

We're proud to offer benefits that go beyond the basics, including comprehensive medical coverage for you and your family, unlimited PTO, a 401(k) plan with matching, and 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
