This position is located under the United States Department of Labor (DOL), Employment and Training Administration (ETA), Atlanta Regional Office. This position performs a variety of program assignments in one or more front-line, core workforce development programs (i.e., Federal job training programs, such as programs authorized under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) within ETA.
This position is inside the bargaining unit.
Qualifications:
You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Workforce Development Specialist, as described below.
For the GS-13 level: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Qualifying specialized experience includes all of the following:
- Applying grant regulations and rules to manage formula and discretionary grants;
- Reviewing and analyzing federally funded workforce development program policies, processes, or practices to identify opportunities for improvement;
- Providing technical guidance and assistance on workforce development program issues;
- Working with Federal, state and local organizations on federally funded workforce development grants to enhance partnerships and improve the service delivery of the workforce system.
