Job Summary
Travel to service areas 10%. The Manager of Dispatch and Work Planning (BGC, CNG and SCG) reports to the Director of Workforce Planning, Scheduling and Resource Management. Directs the overall operation & maintenance of the BGC, CNG and SCG dispatch centers. Ensures the integrity of the Company's emergency response data. Develops and administers policies, practices and procedures that maximize efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal and external auditors. Manages the O&M budget for the Dispatch centers. Works closely with Operations, Regulatory, Internal and External Auditors, Union Leaders, and numerous other internal and external entities. Manages the creation of work orders, emergency dispatches and work scheduling/optimization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Formulates a high degree of strategic and tactical plans relating to the Company's metering system, future system upgrades and ensuring these plans are consistent with Avangrids objectives. Makes highly complex decisions related to work planning which will have a direct impact on earnings and cost containment. (25 %)
  • Provides direction on the operation of Avangrids dispatch centers. Manages multiple/remote work locations and multiple union and non-union work groups. (25 %)
  • Ensures the development of technical training and progression testing for all dispatch personnel. Provides overall leadership, team building and incorporates continual efficiencies and procedural improvements for all areas of responsibilities. Provides Union contract negotiations and grievance process pertaining to union groups. (10 %)
  • Directs the overall operation of the CNG, SCG and BGC Dispatch Group. Coordinates best practices with NY Dispatch group (20%)
  • Formulate a work planning program to find efficiencies in best work practices, review staffing needs for the operations staff and work with the operations team to implement changes(20%)

Required Qualifications
  • Education & Experience Required:
    • Bachelor Degree or 10 years equivalent experience in supervision, project management, and/or utility dispatch.
    • At least 6-8 years of supervisory, project management, and/or utility dispatch related experience.
