We’re a national consulting firm specializing in the placement of senior-level Software and Hardware Engineering consultants, and our Wakefield team is expanding. If you’re a relationship-driven sales professional who thrives on building new business, developing long-term client partnerships, and making an impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Role Overview:

We’re looking for an ambitious, relationship-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing team and play a key role in expanding our Engineering staffing business. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven inside sales or business development professional to leverage their prospecting, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills in the fast-paced world of Engineering staffing.

In this role, you’ll identify and develop new client relationships, uncover business opportunities, build a strong pipeline of prospects, and partner closely with our recruiting and sales teams to deliver solutions that meet our clients’ needs. You’ll have the support, training, and mentorship to build your expertise, grow your client portfolio, and achieve your career and earning potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Client Relations

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through strategic prospecting, market research, networking, and outbound outreach.
  • Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Engage with decision-makers to understand their business challenges and introduce Carlton National Resources’ Engineering staffing solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline while consistently working toward business development and revenue goals.
  • Conduct client presentations and sales discussions that clearly communicate the value of our recruiting and staffing services.

Client & Project Management

  • Develop a strong understanding of client hiring needs, business objectives, and workforce challenges.
  • Partner closely with recruiting and delivery teams to ensure clients receive responsive, high-quality service.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, responding to requests, identifying opportunities, and helping resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Strengthen existing client relationships by identifying opportunities to expand partnerships and support evolving staffing needs.

Market Analysis, Strategy & Reporting

  • Research target markets, companies, and industries to identify high-potential prospects and new business opportunities.
  • Analyze client and market data to develop effective prospecting strategies and prioritize business development activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and prospect information in accordance with company standards.
  • Track activity, pipeline development, and results while consistently working toward weekly and monthly performance goals.

This is a fully onsite position based at our corporate headquarters in Wakefield, Massachusetts. This role is not remote or hybrid and requires regular, in-person collaboration with our team.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of Business Development/Inside Sales experience.
  • Comfortable with new business prospecting and cold outreach.
  • Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a related degree program is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of commitment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Previous success in the staffing industry (either in Sales or Recruiting) desired but not required.

We want to meet driven, resilient individuals who have a track record of success—whether that success comes from building a career, competing at a high level, or overcoming significant challenges.
