Job description

Position Location: This role supports our Canton, MA branch location, which serves customers throughout the greater Boston/Worcester, MA areas, as well as the states of New Hampshire and Maine.
Business Development Managers (BDMs) establish and lead the sales initiatives to realize bookings quotas for Siemens Smart Infrastructure Building Automation Solutions business in the greater Boston/Worcester, MA areas and throughout the states of New Hampshire and Maine. The Business Development Manager is responsible for pipeline development, account planning, defining strategies to grow business volume, and penetrating new customer accounts to achieve greater market share while collaborating with the remainder of the Siemens Industry BDMs from other business units and direct Siemens sales organizations across all channels. Strategic engagement in proposal and sales processes is essential.
As a Business Development Manager, you will:
  • Identify, pursue, and capture new business opportunities utilizing Siemens' commercial building automation solutions and experience base in all key market segments within the regional territory
  • Have early involvement with target customers to influence their specifications and drive the acceptance of our products and service solutions
  • Successfully collaborate with regional and local sales personnel from Smart Infrastructure Buildings team for Building Automation Systems to drive mutual growth
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for bookings and present the sales pipeline to management on a bi-monthly basis via Smart Infrastructure wide CRM tool
  • Attend industry trade shows, internal and external learning sessions, prepare commercial proposals, customer presentations, and demonstrate wall-to-wall capabilities
  • Support in building technical requirements based on global and local market needs for development or adaptation of future products, new technologies, solutions, and systems
  • Provide guidance to building automation solution sales team on implementation of Smart Buildings within customer base
  • Develop dynamic solutions to unique customer opportunities
  • Train and support Siemens' sales channels of Smart Infrastructure portfolio, capabilities, and value propositions

You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years commercial building automation industry experience in a role such as Sales, Project Management, Business Development Management, Engineering or other related positions
  • Consistent record or capability for account management, forecast, sales process management, and successful reach of quota in a complex sales environment across multiple product lines
  • Demonstrated negotiating skills, conflict management skill, accountability, and having the ability to work though others as required
  • Possess persuasive presentation and effective communications skills (written and verbal), motivation, and creativity to develop dynamic solutions to unique customer opportunities
  • Command of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, for detailed financial analysis and business evaluation with working knowledge of related office suite products required
  • High School Diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in the Siemens Fleet Vehicle Program
  • Must be willing and able to travel to New Hampshire and Maine on a frequent basis
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with responsibilities in sales, business development, project management, and commercial building automation systems

The pay range for this position is $109,742 - $188,129 annually with a target incentive of 25% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
