Summary:
KCC, a leader in the climate control technology industry, is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our New Product Development team and help shape the next generation of products. This role combines technical expertise in commercial HVAC and electrical system design with hands-on problem-solving. In this position, you will be working independently and collaboratively with a cross-functional team including Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Purchasing who are responsible for the design, support, and manufacturing of commercial HVAC equipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Product Design: Design and validate commercial HVAC systems using proven wiring schemes and collaborate with mechanical, refrigeration, and design engineering teams to develop new technologies.
  • Product Design Validation: Conduct safety and performance testing with an experienced team of engineers to ensure reliable and safe products at KCC's state-of-the-art testing laboratory. Collect and analyze key data to verify design goals.
  • Product Support: Support the construction and documentation of prototype equipment to ensure manufacturability and ease of service. Prepare new products for launch by developing product specifications and reviewing customer-facing data.
  • Workflow Optimization: Facilitate efficient design and documentation processes by incorporating automation and intelligent workflows.
  • Hands-on Verification: Become an expert on the physical operation, electrical servicing, and programming of KCC's prototype equipment and confirm all systems and routines are fully operational and optimized for testing.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or minimum 5 years' experience in related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, component specifications, ladder/function-block logic and relevant standards.
  • Capable of using common hand tools, Gages, multimeters and hand operated power equipment.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft products, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoLISP.
  • Strong decision making, organizational and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome unforeseen obstacles.
  • The ability to diagnose electrical circuits ranging from 24V AC/DC up to 575VAC.
  • Knowledge & training in electrical hazards, Lockout/Tagout and electrical safety in an industrial setting is preferable.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes including but not limited to NEC, UL60335-1, UL60335-2-40 is a plus.
