Job description

Overview

We're looking for a forward-thinking AI & Workflow Developer to add to our team in this space. This is a contract opportunity with the potential to grow into a full-time role. You'll help establish Augusto's next generation of automation and AI services, working with people who have strong domain knowledge in AI and product delivery.

This is ideal for a mid to senior-level developer who thrives on innovation, delivers independently, and is passionate about using AI tools to build practical, intelligent systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Workflow Automation
    • Build automation workflows using n8n.io and Python as the primary platform.
    • Integrate APIs, databases, and AI services to create functional, scalable automation pipelines.
    • Experience with similar tools, such as Airia.ai, Make, or Zapier, is also welcome.
  • AI Integration & Prompt Engineering
    • Work with tools like Claude Code,  Codex GitHub Copilot to build agents, streamline development, and generate value from LLMs.
    • Understanding of  API and MCP services. 
    • Write and test prompts that enable AI to complete meaningful tasks-text classification, summarization, chatbot functionality, and more.
  • Agent & Tool Development:
    • Build task-specific AI agents or multi-step assistants powered by APIs and large language models
    • Combine frontend/backend logic with AI decision-making to produce efficient microservices or tools
  • Prototyping & Delivery:
    • Take abstract product ideas and build working MVPs quickly, with clarity and minimal oversight
    • Understanding Agile development
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Partner with engineering leads and other Augusto team members to deliver meaningful, production-ready solutions
    • Explain technical designs and limitations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • AI Tool Expertise:
    • Proficiency with Claude, or other LLM coding systems
    • Solid understanding of LLM behavior and prompt construction for a variety of tasks
  • Workflow Tooling:
    • Hands-on experience with n8n (preferred) or similar platforms like Airia.ai, Make, or Zapier
  • Programming Skills:
    • Familiarity with JavaScript, Python, or TypeScript
    • Ability to integrate APIs, handle webhooks, and extend automation logic where needed
  • DevOps Skills:
    • Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, Github
  • Delivery Skills:
    • Independent, self-managed, and comfortable owning deliverables in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with tools like Loveable.dev, Amazon Bedrock, or V0.dev
  • Familiarity with Human-in-the-Loop processes for review/approval of AI-generated content
  • Prior work in healthcare or financial services workflows
