Job description

Amazon Health Services (AHS) is reimagining how customers access and experience healthcare - making it easier, more affordable, and more convenient. AHS spans Amazon Pharmacy, One Medical, and a growing portfolio of services that put customers first across primary care, pharmacy, and specialty needs. Within AHS, Amazon Pharmacy is building the most convenient, transparent, and lovable pharmacy experience in the world - and we're still early.

We are growing rapidly, serving millions of customers, expanding partnerships across healthcare, and reinventing what it means to get medications delivered to your door with speed, simplicity, and clinical quality.
Amazon Pharmacy Finance is the strategic finance partner to this business. We sit at the intersection of strategy, operations, and execution, focused on driving sustainable growth, advising senior leadership on high judgment decisions, and building the financial foundation for Pharmacy's growth. Our team partners across Pharmacy, AHS, Operations, WW Stores, and broader Amazon

We are building an AI-native finance team, using generative AI, agentic workflows, and automation to transform how we plan, forecast, analyze, drive controllership, and communicate.
We are looking for a Principal Finance Manager to serve as a strategic finance leader within Amazon Pharmacy Finance, reporting directly to the Pharmacy Finance Director. This is a high-impact, high-visibility leadership role for a senior finance professional who thrives in ambiguity, brings strong judgment to complex decisions, and is energized by the opportunity to help build. In this role, you will serve as a strategic advisor to the Amazon Pharmacy Finance Leadership Team, owning strategic analyses and executive-level communications that shape Pharmacy's long-range trajectory and business decisions, with AI fluency as a core lever to scale your impact

This is a role for someone who wants to build something, not just manage it, influencing decisions that will define how Amazon Pharmacy grows, where we show up for customers, and how we deliver care for the next decade.
This role offers significant career growth opportunities within Amazon Pharmacy Finance and across the broader Amazon Health Services portfolio and Amazon Finance.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Advisor - Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the Pharmacy Finance Leadership Team, helping shape decisions that will define Amazon Pharmacy's growth trajectory, market presence, and care delivery model. Bring deep pharmacy industry experience (e.g., payer, PBM, or other relevant pharmacy experience) to high-judgment business decisions and emerging opportunities. Proactively identify financial, regulatory, and operational risks

Influence decisions at the VP and SVP level across Amazon Health Services.
Long-Range Planning & Growth - Drive strategic analyses for Pharmacy's growth, translating ambiguous opportunities into long-range financial plans with clear trade-offs and quantified alternatives for senior leaders.
Executive Communications - Translate complex financial stories into executive-ready insight that drives leadership alignment.
Cross-Functional Influence & Org Mechanisms - Partner with senior leaders across Pharmacy, AHS, Operations, and broader Amazon to drive alignment on strategic priorities. Build the mechanisms that scale how the leadership team operates and decides.
Financial Controllership & Governance - Promote a strong controllership environment, ensuring integrity of financial reporting and sound judgment on governance matters in a business scaling rapidly.
AI Fluency & Innovation - Apply AI fluency to modernize how Pharmacy Finance operates - leveraging generative AI, agentic workflows, and automation to accelerate analysis, sharpen insight, and unlock capacity for the most strategic work.
Talent Development - Raise the bar for the Pharmacy Finance organization through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and building frameworks that scale how others operate.
