Project Overview:

Bechtel's Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing and building an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing Facility located at Generation Park in Houston, TX. Job Summary:

The Workface Planner serves as a key contributor to construction planning and execution, coordinating workface planning efforts to support safe, efficient, and predictable project delivery. This role partners with engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontractor teams to develop, implement, and maintain Installation Work Packages (IWPs) and Advance Work Packaging (AWP) processes. The Workface Planner also contributes to Continuous Workface Effectiveness (CWE) initiatives, supporting the identification and removal of constraints and driving productivity improvements across project teams. #LI-ME1

Major Responsibilities:

* Develop, plan, and manage Installation Work Packages (IWPs), including scoping, sequencing, and updating work packages based on project progression.
* Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to identify and remove constraints impacting execution.
* Interface with field engineering, supervision, and subcontractors to align priorities and ensure effective work package delivery.
* Maintain planning data and schedules in project systems and ensure alignment with project milestones.
* Analyze project metrics and provide recommendations to improve workface planning effectiveness.
* Support implementation of Construction Workface Effectiveness (CWE) programs, tools, and initiatives.
* Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure consistent understanding of scope, priorities, and execution plans.
* Identify planning gaps and proactively collaborate across teams to resolve issues and improve execution.
* Contribute to development and delivery of training and learning programs related to workface planning and AWP processes.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
Required Knowledge and Skills:

* Experience in construction, field engineering, or project planning environments.
* Understanding of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) principles and lifecycle (preferred).
* Strong understanding of construction planning, scheduling, and execution processes.
* Experience with project controls and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or similar systems.
* Ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
* Skilled in analyzing project data, identifying risks, and implementing solutions.
* Ability to work in field environments and comply with site safety requirements.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives related to productivity, planning, and execution.
* Assist with development of training materials and knowledge sharing across teams.
* Promote safe work practices and integration of safety into all planning activities.
