POSITION SUMMARY  

The Warehouse Operator Specialist, Wave Planner is responsible for directing and maintaining consistent freight flow management within and outside the private supply chain system to assure operational impact. This role optimizes the order fulfillment process by strategically grouping, sequencing, and releasing orders to the warehouse floor to maximize efficiency and meet carrier departure schedules. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Analyze, release, and monitor warehouse orders using the WMS to ensure a continuous and balanced workflow for picking and packing teams. 

  • Communicates changes in the scheduled network due to enacted contingencies. 

  • Works with stations in an effort to find alternative routings or solutions to service commitments 

  • Plan and release daily warehouse waves based on order volume, priorities, carrier schedules, and operational capacity. 

  • Monitor order flow and adjust waves throughout the shift to meet productivity and service-level goals. 

  • Coordinate with warehouse supervisors, inventory teams, picking, packing, shipping, and transportation departments. 

  • Review inventory availability and identify orders that may be delayed due to shortages, holds, or system issues. 

  • Balance workload within business unit work areas, equipment, and shifts to maximize productivity. 

  • Monitor system-generated and manually created waves and make adjustments as business needs change. 

  • Track key operational metrics such as order volume, productivity, backlog, throughput, and on-time shipment performance. 

  • Identify bottlenecks and proactively communicate issues that could affect customer orders or shipping deadlines. 

  • Ensure 1 planning follows established operational procedures, customer requirements, and safety standards. 

  • Maintain accurate records and provide updates on workload, priorities, and expected completion times. 

  • Work with leadership and operations teams to resolve system or process issues affecting order fulfillment. 

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and order turnaround time. 

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES 

High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years' experience in supply chain capacity planning, wave planning, 3 years of experience preferred. 

Computer Skills:   

  • Experienced with Microsoft Office, proficient in Microsoft Excel 

  • High proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Systems 

Certificates & Licenses:   

  • N/A 

Language Skills: 

  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus  

Mathematical Skills: 

  • Good mathematical skills 

Other Skills:   

  • Strong ability to analyze data and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment 

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment 

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities 

  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate 

  • Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary 

For this position, the expected base pay range is $21.53 - $26.91 . Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
