The HR Systems Specialist is responsible for system administration, ongoing maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Human Capital Management System (HCMS). The HR Systems Specialist delivers first and second tier support for the Workday application while acting as the technical point of contact for all related inquiries, and ensures data integrity throughout the information lifecycle, leads system change testing, conducts data flow analysis, and designs and refines business processes to drive operational efficiency and scalability.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage and prioritize a dynamic workload to consistently meet time-sensitive deadlines across multiple concurrent projects.

  • Administer and maintain the Workday Learning application, encompassing configuration, security, content management, learning catalog administration, and ongoing platform enhancements.

  • Support integrations with external vendors or third-party systems, providing strategic insight and resources to guide future integration development.

  • Support Workday's semi-annual release process, including reviewing release materials, assessing business impacts, coordinating testing activities, and implementing new functionality and enhancements. Partner with stakeholders to test, validate, and implement enhancements that improve system functionality and user experience.

  • Ensure security concepts, including security groups, role-based access, domain security policies, and business process security, are properly applied to ensure appropriate access controls are in place and consistently followed.

  • Partner with internal departments that rely on HR data to safeguard data integrity and optimize system performance.

  • Actively participate in system implementation testing, evaluating functionality, performance, and usability in alignment with Workday best practices.

  • Conduct regular data audits within Workday to verify accuracy and ensure alignment with the firm's organizational structure and configuration standards.

  • Serve as an HR business analyst and point of contact on Workday configuration projects, translating business needs into effective system solutions.

  • Monitor data quality on an ongoing basis, analyzing trends and identifying errors to ensure proper data management and system reliability.

  • Troubleshoot system issues promptly and collaborate with IT as needed to drive timely resolution.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive HR data and system information in accordance with firm policy.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advance knowledge across key functional areas, including HCM, Learning, integration, and security.

  • Solid understanding of Workday security, including the configuration and maintenance of role-based and user-based security groups, domain security policies, and business process security policies, with the ability to troubleshoot access issues and apply appropriate controls to protect sensitive HR data.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organized, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining a consistent focus on quality and continuous improvement.

  • Advanced critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex problems and develop sound, well-reasoned solutions.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, confidently, and clearly.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, orany combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Certification(s):

  • Workday Pro certification in one or more modules beneficial.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of Workday HCM administration experience required.

  • Proficiency in Workday report writing (standard, advanced, and matrix reports).

  • Experience working in a professional service or law firm environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Workday security concepts, including security groups, role-based access, domain security policies, and business process security, to ensure appropriate access controls are in place and consistently followed.
