Job description

Position Description This position will be open until filled. Candidates are encouraged to submit their application by 11:59pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, to be considered in the first review. We are seeking a Workday Integration Engineer to design, build, support, and enhance integrations that connect Workday HCM and Payroll with a wide range of internal and external systems.

Job Responsibilities What You'll Do: Build & Test Integrations Design and develop Workday integrations for HCM and Payroll processes.

Configure advanced integration solutions using Workday tools (EIBs, Studio, APIs, integration cloud platform). Partner with fellow integration engineers to share knowledge and ensure consistency. Support, Maintenance & Troubleshooting Monitor integration health and resolve issues across internal and external systems.

Conduct root-cause analysis and improve error handling and performance. Maintain clear, accurate documentation. Use tools (e.g

Oxygen, Workday Studio) to enhance the support process. Integration Analysis & Design Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable Workday solutions. Collaborate with downstream technical teams to discuss design and impacts.

Participate in end-to-end system testing. Recommend improvements and enhancements to existing integrations. Communication & Collaboration Communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences.

Escalate risks appropriately and coordinate with partner departments and vendors. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required Minimum Qualifications: Four or more years of technical experience with increasing complexity. Experience integrating systems with third-party service vendors. Demonstrated hands-on experience with Workday integrations (EIBs, Studio, APIs, ICC, reports, calculated fields).

Expertise in Workday custom reporting and strong understanding of EIB inbound/outbound. Experience with Oracle/SQL Server or similar database. Demonstrated knowledge of SOA, APIs, XML, XSLT, and secure data exchange.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field - or equivalent experience. Experience working in government or similarly complex organizations.

Familiarity with security best practices, cloud integrations, and data management. Experience with Java, REST, SOAP, MVEL, Oxygen, or related technologies. Experience working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds across all levels of the organization.

NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for the required qualifications. Additional Information Salary: The full salary range for this position is $54.81 - $82.28 per hour. Telework Expectations This position offers flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Hybrid telework schedules have a minimum requirement of three days onsite per week, which is subject to change at any time at the mayor's discretion
