Looking for US Citizen & Green Card Holder  

Position: Solutions Architect

Openings: 1

Location: fully remote, but if they are local and willing to go onsite that would be a huge plus

Method / Duration: 6 months plus extensions, potential to convert

Visa Restrictions: because there is a potential to convert and this is technically a backfill for an FTE please send only candidate who can convert without sponsorship

Interview Process: first round with hiring manager, 2nd round with IT stakeholder and potential 3rd round with business stakeholder  

Confirmed interview times for Tuesday 8/11 between 10-11 and 3-4 and Wednesday 8/12 between 12-2 and 4-5

Role Overview

  • Solutions Architect focused on the Workday ecosystem, supporting HR, Finance, and Learning & Development (L&D).
  • Position is much more architectural and consultative than hands-on engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design solutions and integration strategies rather than perform development work.
  • Partner with the business daily to understand requirements and guide stakeholders toward the best technical solutions.
  • Create integration designs and architecture for other teams to build and implement.
  • Evaluate business requests and recommend whether reports, integrations, APIs, or other solutions are the right approach.
  • Provide guidance around Workday reports and reporting capabilities.
  • Focus heavily on data integrations and solution design.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong Workday architect or solutions architect, not a hands-on developer.
  • Extensive Workday HRIS/HCM experience is the top priority.
  • Workday Financials experience is a significant plus.
  • Broad Workday platform knowledge across HR, Finance, L&D, reporting, and integrations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to translate technical concepts into business-focused solutions.
  • Self-starter who works independently with minimal oversight or hand-holding.
  • Healthcare or insurance industry experience is preferred but not required.

Technical Focus Areas

  • Workday HRIS is the highest priority skill set.
  • Workday Financials is a strong secondary preference.
  • Experience with integrations, APIs, and solution architecture is critical.
  • Not expected to perform significant configuration or development work.
  • Some hands-on involvement with Workday reporting may be required.
  • Ability to assess integration performance, API usage, and technical design decisions.

  • If Workforce Management requests access to PTO data from Workday, this individual would:
    • Gather requirements from the business.
    • Design the integration and solution approach.
    • Recommend APIs or integrations versus manual reporting.
    • Provide architectural guidance to the team responsible for development.
    • Explain the rationale and technical approach back to business stakeholders.
  • The focus is on solving the problem and creating the design, not building the integration themselves.


Job description / Day to day:

Responsible for leading the technical requirements gathering and design sessions with stakeholders as it relates to software systems and/or applications (cloud and/or on-premises). Translates product vision to the MSP team, disseminating knowledge, technical requirements, and design documentation. Identifies and evaluates project constraints and risks. Researches and monitors new technologies, frameworks, and tools that would improve development workflows and optimize technological capabilities to meet business needs. Drives MSP to scopes, designs, and presents Proof of Concepts that have potential to become products, analyzing for technical feasibility and implementation risks. Ensures solutions are in alignment to existing enterprise architecture framework and business standards. Serves as a technical resource for design implementations across teams. Creates solution designs based on conceptual design and stated business requirements. Identifies and evaluates new technologies for implementation. Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements. Ensures solutions align to business and IT strategies. Participates in defining roadmaps for one or more applications.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Drives the solution of technical initiatives with business roadmap/strategy with specific focus on Workday HRIS and Financials.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Provide strategic guidance on product roadmap and feature prioritization.
  • Leads the conceptualization, solution design, and implementation of new and existing features for the existing portfolio of applications. 
  • Collaborates with architects on processes, tooling and frameworks required for the delivery of features in the sprint or product backlog. 
  • Develops alternative solutions for business problems. 
  • Accountable for the overall delivery of the application. 
  • Analyzes complex problems and recommends solutions.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8 – 10 years of related experience.
