Workday Data Conversion Steward – HCM

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid Preferred)
Employment Type: Contract

Overview

A nationally recognized pediatric academic healthcare organization is seeking a Workday Data Conversion Steward – HCM to support a large-scale enterprise Workday transformation initiative. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and successful migration of HR data into Workday HCM.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in HR data conversion, data governance, and Workday implementations within complex healthcare or enterprise environments. This individual will partner closely with HR, IT, Payroll, and implementation teams to validate, cleanse, map, and support the successful transition of employee data into Workday.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support end-to-end HCM data conversion activities for a Workday implementation
  • Analyze, cleanse, map, and validate legacy HR data for migration into Workday
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, IT, and implementation teams to ensure data accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with identifying data gaps, inconsistencies, and conversion risks
  • Support data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) validation processes
  • Review and validate employee, organizational, job, compensation, and benefits-related data
  • Participate in testing cycles including mock conversions, UAT, and reconciliation activities
  • Maintain documentation related to conversion mapping, transformation rules, and validation results
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve data-related issues and support project timelines

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Workday HCM implementations or data conversion initiatives
  • Strong understanding of HR data structures and employee lifecycle processes
  • Experience working with large-scale employee datasets and data validation activities
  • Familiarity with Workday HCM modules including:
    • Core HCM
    • Compensation
    • Benefits
    • Organizational structures
  • Experience with data mapping, cleansing, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting healthcare or large enterprise organizations
  • Previous Workday conversion or implementation experience
  • Exposure to Workday EIBs, Prism, or reporting tools
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and data governance best practices
