The Account Manager fulfills a support role for the Client Services team while developing their skills toward an Account Director role. As such, this individual reports to the Senior Account Director and assists the Client Services team on larger client relationships while managing a small portfolio of mid-level accounts. The Account Manager will work independently, managing smaller accounts in addition to supporting individual components of larger accounts under the supervision of an Account Director. The components could include drafting meeting agendas and notes, assisting with the development of contracts and scope of work documents, participating in planning calls and meetings, etc. As the account owner on smaller accounts, the Account Manager contributes to the overall success of the client relationship and identifies growth opportunities.
Excellent communication and project management skills, strong customer service and personal initiative are keys to success in this role since it requires managing a portfolio of work and extensive client/team interaction. An understanding of agency offerings, processes and challenges is helpful. Previous high-level customer service experience is a must.

Customer Service/Client Ownership
  • Prioritize and execute multiple tasks efficiently without compromising on quality or timeliness.
  • Educate and maintain knowledge of the client's business and objectives.
  • Manage expectations internally and externally.
  • Assist with the facilitation of client meetings as appropriate.
  • Guide clients through CPG processes, especially staffing, financial, etc.
  • Attend onsite functions, when possible, to continue building client relationships.
  • Identify problems or concerns and address with clients and/or team members.
  • Assist with the facilitation of project debriefs, internally and externally.
  • Offer support to event and engagement producers as they execute programs and events (attend meetings, review deliverables for accuracy and relevance, assist in securing resources as needed, etc.)
  • Present work to clients as appropriate.
  • Analyze project/program effectiveness for continuous learning and improvement.

Client Profitability
  • Manage project profitability.
  • Review budgets and financial statements.
  • Contribute to the budgeting process.

Financial Management
  • Review producer's scope of work and create/deliver the resulting contract to client.
  • Negotiate pricing with clients when necessary.
  • Create and deliver budget summaries, invoices, change orders, etc.

Project Management
  • Collaborate with all internal departments.
  • Follow the CPG pre-production process and guide other team members.
  • Maintain detailed schedules and manage tasks between multiple departments.
  • Participate in meetings and brainstorms for current clients and potential new clients.
  • Maintain quality control on new business proposals.
  • Perform research and competitive analysis of the client's industry.
  • Become a super-user with CPG's project management tool (Workamajig) and CRM system (HubSpot).

Skills/Requirements: The core skills, abilities, and knowledge key to success in this position include:
  • Driven and motivated to take initiative when assigned projects/tasks to steward them from conception to successful completion.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of agency or agency-like experience in a client-facing role.
  • High standards of quality, efficiency and effectiveness (high performance).
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and writing).
  • Lead meetings - both internal and external
  • Ability to work well with all levels of internal personnel, outside clients and vendors.
  • Adaptability, flexibility and problem solving.
  • Confidence and positivity
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Marketing, Advertising or PR
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours.

This is a full-time salaried position. Our downtown Saint Louis office currently operates on a hybrid schedule with three days in office and two days working from home.
