Summary of Responsibilities
  • Execute strategic and innovative marketing and communications campaigns focused on campus (students and faculty/staff) and community audiences, resulting in increased Revenue Generation / Ticket Sales, Fan Experience, Innovation / Creativity, Student-Athlete Experience, Community Outreach, and Attendance
  • Execute game day/event marketing responsibilities, including pre-game, in-game, and post-game activities and setup/takedown
  • Foster collaborative relationships with campus and community stakeholders, including, but not limited to, Athletics Communications, Athletics Corporate Partners and Community Outreach, Athletics Development and Wolverine Club, Athletics Game Operations, PACE, Faculty Senate, Alumni & Development, UVUSA, Clubs and Organizations, UVU Ambassadors, RCL Program, Orientation Leaders, First Year Experience, Prospective Student Services, Student Housing (Axis, The Green, Wolverine Crossing, etc.), Youth Sports (Jr. Jazz, Bantam Basketball, Utah Youth Soccer, middle school, junior high, high school, etc.), Elementary Schools (elementary school days, elementary school ticketing, mascot visits, student-athlete visits, etc.), etc., focusing on Revenue Generation / Ticket Sales, Fan Experience, Innovation / Creativity, Community Outreach, and Attendance
  • Execute market research to gain insight into various areas, including brand awareness, campaign effectiveness, competitive analysis, consumer insights, customer satisfaction, customer segmentation, product development, and more
  • Continuously assess marketing strategies and apply industry practices for Revenue Generation / Ticket Sales, Fan Experience, Innovation / Creativity, Student-Athlete Experience, Community Outreach, and Attendance
  • Create executive reports that outline campaign and program objectives, audiences, targets, and tactics, including end-of-campaign and end-of-year actuals against targets
  • Perform other marketing-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Must be a current UVU Student and have been awarded Work-Study through UVU Financial Aid.
  • One or more years of experience in event planning, marketing, public relations, or other related fields.
  • Must attend Mandatory Staff Meetings on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 9:50 am.
  • Office hours will be scheduled during regular business hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) and will be decided upon by the applicant and supervisor.
  • Works on weekends, evenings, holidays, and flexible shifts.
  • Works indoors and outdoors (hot and cold temperatures, wind, rain, snow, etc.)

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and email.
  • Good interpersonal skills, judgment, and diplomacy are required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience.
  • Ability to run/learn to run in-game operation equipment, including audio, lighting, video board, etc.
  • Ability to set up / take down game day/event equipment, including tents, tables, flags, banners, coolers, promotions, contests, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback.
