JOB TITLE: 

Office Aide: International Students and Scholars

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION: 

The International Students and Scholars (ISS) office provides guidance on immigration, visa applications, and outreach services. We create a welcoming environment for the international community at UW and in Laramie, with a wide range of services.

Job location: Cheney International Center, University of Wyoming

Pay rate or range: $12 per hour

JOB PURPOSE: 

Assist ISS in their daily operations. The office is located in the  University of Wyoming's Cheney International Center. This is an on campus position not eligible for remote work. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Professionally answer, respond to, and forward phone calls in the front ISS office
  • Restock office supplies
  • Provide service to those who walk through the front doors of the Cheney International Center
  • Complete projects for coordinators and advisors in the office on an as-need basis 
  • Assist with event planning, set up, and take down

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS: 

Opportunity to develop an international perspective by assisting with other Global Engagement Office projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.  

  • Enrolled UW student with work study eligibility
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Some office experience

EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS APPLICABLE TO CAREERS:

  • Learning new computer programs

  • Working with a varied set of students and scholars

WORK LOCATION: 

On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
