Job description

We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Copy Editor to join the Healio News Group and ensure the highest-quality news content is delivered to our physician audience.
The Copy Editor will:
  • edit, proofread and fact-check articles and their components, including social media assets and infographics;
  • edit, proofread and fact-check page proofs;
  • perform deep edits on articles, rework the phrasing or structure of a story when necessary, and leave suggested changes or feedback when appropriate;
  • ensure articles are written in the author's own words and look for plagiarism and AI-generated content;
  • review articles for balance;
  • adhere to AP, AMA and in-house style guides; and
  • make sure articles are formatted and styled correctly.

Qualified candidates must have:
  • a bachelor's degree in English, Communications or Journalism;
  • 3 to 5 years of editing experience;
  • knowledge of AP style; and
  • strong communication and time management skills.

The annual base salary for this position is $50,000 to $60,000. Placement within this range is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, education, years and level of experience, and equity with internal team members. Employees living within a 50-mile radius will be scheduled to work two days per week in our Thorofare, NJ location. Remote applicants will be considered.
