Work Study Event Production Office Assistant

Title - Work Study Event Production Office Assistant

Department Information: University Events (UE) manages and maintains event space and resources while providing event related services including room configuration, technology, and production, audio and lighting support. UE is committed to supporting student success and development through hands-on experiential learning outside of the classroom.

Position Description & Responsibilities: Under the direction of the University Events Assistant Director for Production, Audio & Lighting Services this position will assist in processing reservation information for campus events. They will also be responsible for maintaining and updating cloud-based event and staff scheduling calendars for student employees engaged in audio & lighting event support in BSU Auditoriums and other event venues across campus. Using Campus Reservation software [EMS], Google Calendar, and MS Office 365, this position will:

  • Assist in processing incoming requests from BSU event planners for PALS area.
  • Track & communicate changes in University events for PALS staff.
  • Assist in assigning appropriate student staff to University events.
  • In consultation with Auditorium Technical Director, assign appropriate lighting & sound equipment to individual events.
  • As part of training/team building, participate in event support on occasion.

Eligibility requirements: Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester. Preferred Qualifications - A successful candidate must be organized and detail oriented, able to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment. Other preferred qualifications include: Good communication skills, both written and verbal are required. Familiarity/experience with EMS, the Google suite [Calendar, Docs, Drive], MS Outlook, and/or MS Office. Experience with event production [lighting, sound, audio/visual] helpful.
