As MSU Denver seeks to be the national leader in educating students for tomorrow's careers, the Classroom to Career Hub (C2Hub) works to ensure programs are aligned to Colorado workforce development trends and the Colorado Talent Pipeline report. With an ambitious goal of engaging 100% of students in robust career planning in the next few years, the University is committed to creating services that are scaled, highly evaluated, and focused on the specific needs and interests of MSU Denver students. To that end, successful team members think critically about MSU Denver student demographics and their respective career planning.
The Career Engagement Team works within the Student Success Department of the Classroom to Career Hub to provide robust programs designed to engage all MSU Denver students in career readiness opportunities. The Student Employment Programs Specialist is responsible for management of the university Off-Campus Work Study program as well as planning and implementing programs and services to enhance career readiness of MSU Denver student employees.
This position will serve as the HR staffing lead in the management of the Off-Campus Work Study program at MSU Denver. In addition, this position will implement programs that facilitate career readiness and skill development for MSU Denver's student employees. This position will also support efforts to ensure that C2 Hub student employees are supported, connected, and prepared for careers after graduation. All programs and services will affirm student unique identity and reflect university values of equity and inclusion

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Program Management - (50%)
  • Manage the Off-Campus Work Study program, ensuring smooth operations, guiding decisions, and supporting alignment with student and institutional goals. This requires outreach and training to engage community agencies, ensuring terms of agreement are maintained and shared with appropriate partners, recruiting of student employees, job requisition management, and ensuring students, supervisors and campus partners are well-informed regarding program requirements.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of a competency-based professional development program which facilitates NACE Competency skill development for MSU Denver student employees.
  • Coordinate and implement the Student Employment Job Fair to connect students with on-campus employment opportunities.
  • Provides support to the C2 Hub Special Projects Manager/Assistant to the Associate Vice President, in the planning and delivery of Student Employee Appreciation Week, assisting with coordination, logistics, and event execution as needed
  • Support programs that assist C2Hub student employees become career ready

Assessment and Reporting - (25%)
  • Track and maintain current and accessible documentation on participation of students and employers of the Off Campus Work Study program.
  • Manage site visits, develop surveys, collect, and analyze data from students, internal and external stakeholders on above mentioned programming to assess experience of MSU Denver student employees to determine impact and career readiness outcomes

Supervisor Support - (15%)
  • Coordinate opportunities to support professional and skill development to supervisors of student employees at MSU Denver
  • Serve as C2 Hub liaison to Human Resources, Financial Aid and other partners to help streamline and improve student employment processes and procedures

Campus Engagement - (10%)
  • Participate in campus committees and strategic initiatives that support goals and vision of C2 Hub, Student Affairs and MSU Denver
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with campus partners and community agencies
  • Develop and maintain thorough understanding of C2Hub resources and integrate into student employment programs and services

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience leading and executing programs, workflows, projects, or stakeholder-facing operations across multiple departments, organizations, or community partners.
  • Experience utilizing applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, CRM systems, or similar process management tools
  • Experience working in student services, workforce development, recruiting, career readiness, or related educational or community-based settings
  • Experience leading and executing events, trainings, workshops, outreach initiatives, or engagement programs.

  • Knowledge of emerging trends in student employment
  • Familiarity with Workday or other similar candidate tracking systems

Work Hours
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Exempt
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM
Evenings and weekend work: As needed
Travel: Occasional travel may be required based on business or operational needs.
This is primarily an in-person position with the opportunity to work remotely one or two days per week (Alternative Work Arrangements). Alternative work arrangements may be available with supervisory approval and are based on operational needs. Salary for Announcement
We anticipate the qualified candidate to be placed between $47,300-$52,000. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
