Salary Range: $16.08 per hour
Position Level: N/A
Working Hours and/or Working Conditions: HOURS: To be determined. Work hours will be based on college work-study funding. Scheduled work hours may not conflict with class hours. Position terminates at end of semester or when award is exhausted. Hours may not exceed 20 per week.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must provide proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams), be extremely accurate and pay attention to details. Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team. Good verbal, analytical and written communication skills. Prior experience in an office setting or administrative role is desired. Familiarity with accounting terminology, and general business processes preferred.
Supervision: SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Controller and takes direction from the Internal Auditor & Treasury Analyst or other Financial Services staff. SUPERVISION GIVEN: None.
Job Function
The Financial Services Support Work Study student will assist the financial services staff with various clerical tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the department. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting, finance and office administration.

- a current student at Macomb Community College taking AT LEAST 6 credit hours.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide support to Accounting Clerks in Department, as directed.
  • Update and maintain spreadsheets, as assigned.
  • Enter journal entries into financial system, Colleague.
  • Document scanning, linking and shredding.
  • General clerical duties including typing, filing, answering and placing phone calls and emails, photocopying, scanning and faxing.
  • May distribute mail and prepare mailings.
  • Will be expected to use Microsoft Office programs including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Additionally, will be expected to use other software packages utilized within the department including Ellucian Colleague and ImageNow.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality as it relates to all employee payroll records, financial records, reports, company liability and audit information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

High school graduate or GED equivalent.
