Job Description
This posting is to establish a pool of qualified applicants. The department may not be actively recruiting. Applications submitted will remain active for up to one (1) year. San Bernardino Community College District accepts applications for Federal Work Study, hourly positions for our two college campuses (San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College) on a continuous basis. However, this does not imply the department is actively recruiting for this position. If there is an interest and/or need within the specific department, applicants who meet the requirements will be contacted by the respective department manager. Applications submitted will remain active for up to one (1) year.
Student worker will assist Tool Room staff.
Student worker will assist in providing program related general support and assistance to faculty, staff, and students during class/lab activities. Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population.
  • Assist in checking tools and equipment in and out to faculty and students
  • Assist in performance of "housekeeping" of the Tool and Lab Rooms at all times
  • Assist in cleaning, maintenance, and performing minor repairs of hand tools and equipment as necessary
  • Assist with the tool and equipment inventory and maintain inventory records
  • Other tasks that may be assigned relevant to this position.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Students must have a Federal Work Study award letter for the current academic year
  • Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
  • Students cannot fall below half-time (6+ units) during their employment under the FWS program.
  • Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units
  • Students must have a minimum of 2.0 GPA
  • Students must have a current TB
  • Ability to follow directions to carry out the duties as assigned
  • Familiarity with various equipment/tools used in the program and/or have completed some courses in the specific program or related field

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents; and to operate assigned equipment.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
