Posting Number 01095 Position Title Work Study - Assistant Laboratory Services Department School of the Sciences: Laboratory Services Position Summary
The Work Study - Assistant Laboratory Services will support the Kahlert Foundation Maker Space Innovation Lab by overseeing use of the space, verifying training records, maintaining the physical environment and serving as a resource to all users.
Education/Experience
Currently enrolled Stevenson University student in good standing with the University academically and judicially. Experience or interest with design and creation preferred. Must be Federal Work Study program qualified and awarded funds.

Physical Requirements
Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force
constantly to move objects. Works in fabrication space and will require handling of various tools.
Requires physical abilities consistent with a busy college environment on a campus with buildings and laboratories separated by some distance. Position requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing and walking with occasional climbing, stooping, pulling and pushing. Visual acuity requirements include daily work with computers, monitors, copy machines, and other office equipment is required. 
Essential Functions
  • Assist in the daily running of the Innovation Laboratory in the Kahlert Foundation Maker Space.
  • Aid in the proper storage and organization of supplies
  • Maintain inventory of all supplies and equipment, and assist in tool check-out process.
  • Verify appropriate training certification prior to allowing access to tools and equipment.
  • Ensure all appropriate safety protocols and procedures are being followed.
  • Assist in providing training on various tools and equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty, staff and students as needed.
  • Report all incidents to Laboratory Services.
