Location: Houston, TX.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: Up to $35.00/hour (Based on Experience)

Travel: Occasional Travel Required

Skillforce is currently seeking experienced Journeyman Riggers for long-term industrial work based out of Houston, TX. We are looking for dependable riggers with experience safely moving, positioning, and securing heavy equipment in industrial and commercial environments.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and perform rigging operations for heavy equipment and materials
  • Inspect and properly use slings, chains, wire rope, shackles, spreader bars, and other rigging equipment
  • Signal and communicate with crane operators during lifts
  • Calculate load weights and determine proper rigging methods
  • Safely position, align, and secure machinery and structural components
  • Inspect rigging gear before each use and remove damaged equipment from service
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures
  • Work efficiently with crane operators, millwrights, ironworkers, and other trades on site


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of industrial rigging experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of safe rigging practices and load calculations
  • Ability to read lift plans and follow detailed instructions
  • Experience working around cranes and heavy equipment
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel occasionally for project assignments
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check if required
