Position Overview
Careers of America is seeking an experienced Rigging Instructor to deliver Basic Rigging courses on an as-needed basis. This role is ideal for a skilled rigger looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity to share their knowledge and support workforce development across the maritime, energy, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
-Deliver Basic Rigging curriculum in both classroom and hands-on settings
-Demonstrate proper rigging techniques, safety practices, and equipment use
-Prepare students for NCCER written and practical certification exams
-Ensure all instruction aligns with NCCER standards and guidelines
-Maintain a safe and organized training environment
-Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
Qualifications
-Minimum 5 years of rigging experience (shipyard, energy, or industrial preferred)
-Strong knowledge of rigging equipment, load calculations, and safety procedures
-NCCER certification in rigging preferred
-Ability to obtain NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP) if not already certified
-Strong communication and teaching skills
-Reliable, professional, and able to work flexible hours
