Their primary responsibility is to craft compelling documents that persuade clients, customers, or grant committees to approve projects, partnerships, or funding. These writers must have excellent communication, research, and organizational skills, as well as proficiency with word processing and online collaboration tools. Working from home allows them flexibility, but also requires self-motivation and the ability to meet deadlines independently.

Job description

Primary Purpose
This role will manage the process of responding to requests for proposal (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), and related materials that help organizations evaluate Bright Horizons' fit as a service provider. RFP responses are a multifaceted process that require careful project management and rigid adherence to timelines, cross-function collaboration to formulate the response strategy and furnish the necessary information, careful review and copy editing of the full response document(s) for accuracy, brevity, and cohesiveness, and open communication with the sales and account directors who set the engagement strategy with specific accounts. An ideal candidate will thrive in rapidly-paced environments, hold their own and others' work to an exacting standard, approach tasks in an efficient and methodical way, have excellent organizational skills, and relish the chance to help convince top employers that Bright Horizons is the best - and only - provider to meet their stated needs.

  • Reflect the voice of the customer in all aspects of RFP/RFI submission
  • Segment the RFP/RFI response project into discrete steps and establish a project timeline that accounts for client deadlines and requirements, resource constraints, and level of effort
  • Manage contributor and reviewer roles according to the strategy and project timeline
  • Generate first draft proposals by drawing from the existing content library and applying account-specific details as warranted
  • Assist in maintaining the content library by revising existing content to reflect the latest company information, market trends, product capabilities, and supporting statistics, as well as by adding new content sections that emerge in response to proposal requests
  • Assist in curating RFP avoidance tools, including no-bid letters and standard proposals, for all lines of service
  • Report on all facets of RFP/RFI submission efforts, and identify opportunities for improvement by comparing strategy and tactics to deal outcomes

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of RFP/RFI experience, preferably in the enterprise B2B space

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Adept at managing tight timelines, competing priorities, and projects that span multiple departments
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships and work cohesively through time-sensitive projects
  • Deadline driven
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with core sales concepts including buying centers, value propositions, and differentiation preferred
  • Analytical thinker, capable of quickly organizing information related to a market opportunity and outlining a plan
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) and content/project management applications, including Salesforce.com, Loopio, and Monday.com preferred
