Within the Department of Institutional Research, the Institutional Research Analyst plays a critical role in supporting institutional research efforts by collecting, analyzing, and reporting institutional data. This position assists in producing data-driven insights to enhance decision-making, institutional effectiveness, and compliance with external reporting requirements. The Institutional Research Analyst will collaborate with various university stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and accessibility of institutional data.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; a master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in institutional research, data analysis, higher education administration, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills, with experience in data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with institutional research practices, accreditation processes, and higher education data governance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex data to various audiences.
  • Familiarity with relevant institutional research software, databases, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Excel).
  • Knowledge of compliance and reporting standards related to state and federal agencies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in collecting, validating, and analyzing institutional data related to enrollment, student outcomes, and faculty productivity.
  • Support the preparation of reports for internal stakeholders and external agencies, including accrediting bodies and government entities.
  • Develop data visualizations and dashboards to communicate key institutional metrics effectively.
  • Conduct research on higher education trends and best practices to support institutional planning and decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate institutional data and ensure compliance with reporting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to assess and improve data quality and reporting processes.
  • Assist in responding to data requests from university leadership, faculty, and staff.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, data analytics methodologies, and regulatory changes affecting institutional research.
