Job description

In alignment with the College's mission and Strategic Plan, "Excellence in Action," the Lead Institutional Research Analyst will serve as a senior individual responsible for leading complex research projects, designing advanced analytical methodologies, and ensuring institutional data integrity. The Lead Analyst will champion data-informed decision-making across the college and coordinate large-scale reporting efforts. This position is a member of the Institutional Research team and works collaboratively with all divisions and college partners.

This position may be eligible for full-time remote work on the condition the employee resides in the state of North Carolina. This position will have an expected presence at certain required in-person college events/activities throughout the year. This position may have occasional travel between campuses and for training.

Occasional after hours may be required. Some evening and weekend work may be required for departmental events and meetings. Essential Duties Project Leadership & Data Analysis Lead the planning, execution, and project management of multi-departmental institutional research studies.

Oversee and orchestrate the timely prioritization, completion, and presentation of scheduled, annual, and ad hoc data requests. Under the leadership of the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, coordinate all required data submissions for the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) surveys, ensuring cross-departmental alignment, strict compliance, and high-quality data control. Provide advanced strategic plan support by driving the analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) and partnering with college teams to translate data into actionable improvement strategies.

Produce charts, interactive dashboards, tables, and other data visualizations as well as written evaluations and summaries from data analyses. Collect and prepare numerical and narrative data that supports grant proposals, institutional and programs accreditation, institutional planning, and other special initiatives. Provide Professional Development Design, champion, and lead college-wide professional development programs focused on data literacy and data-informed decision-making.

Coordinate, train, and support data liaisons across various college departments. Create and Maintain Institution-wide Data Collect, verify, clean, analyze, and report data for reports on items such as the NC Community College System Performance Measures, institutional/departmental performance indicators for planning and review cycles, environmental scanning, demographic, and economic data. Develop and maintain institution-wide and department level-dashboards.

Coordinate the publication of the annual College Fact Sheet. Prepare and distribute monthly "data bytes" to the college community. Assist in compiling and reporting for grant reporting requirements.

Verify and ensure the accuracy of data collected and assembled for staff and public usage, for publications, and for inclusion in higher education databases. Provide ongoing monitoring and data testing to verify the accuracy and timeliness of products and reports. Other Maintain necessary levels of confidentiality and security of all institutional and system data extracted and grant projects.

Perform related work as assigned. Minimum Requirements Required educational background: Bachelor's degree in data analytics, statistics, or a related field Required kind and number years of work experience: Minimum of three years of progressive, professional experience in institutional research, data analytics, or educational research (preferably within a higher education setting).

Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Excellent technology skills; high level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to lead initiatives, manage competing deadlines, and coordinate tasks across different departments. Ability to quickly learn new software applications.

Ability to quickly learn new skills such as JavaScript, SQL, etc. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to carefully analyze numbers and reports to identify problems and inconsistencies.

Ability to effectively organize and manage large volumes of information. Ability to make arithmetical calculations efficiently and accurately. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and staff from other agencies.

Accuracy and promptness in all information and reports. Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment. Ability to perform under moderate levels of stress imposed by deadlines and peak workloads.

Ability to operate effectively in an environment of change. Preferred Requirements Master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field. Two or more years of community college experience Knowledge and understanding of the mission, vision, and values of Central Carolina Community College.

Familiarity with SAS, SPSS, R, Python, or other research statistical packages. Experience using SQL to query databases. Experience with Datatel/Colleague, Informer, Microsoft Access, PowerBI, Qualtrics, Blackboard, or Canvas.

Experience with CRMs (Slate, Element 451, etc.)
