While the Vice President,Human Resources owns the enterprise-wide HR strategy and oversees the centers of excellence (Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, etc.), the Senior HR Director, Operations is accountable for translating those programs into effective, on-the-ground execution across a large, distributed, frontline workforce. This individual ensures consistency, compliance, and quality of HR delivery across all operational sites, and partners closely with centralized functions - particularly Employee Relations - to ensure operational realities and frontline needs are reflected in program design and case handling.

  • Partner with VP, HR with Talent Reviews and succession planning for Key positions.

  • Translate business strategy and operational goals into proactive HR plans that support productivity, retention, safety, and engagement
  • Participate in operational leadership meetings, providing HR insight into workforce planning, labor trends, and organizational health
  • Anticipate workforce challenges tied to peak season, network expansion, site openings/closures, and volume fluctuations

WORKFORCE & LABOR RELATIONS
  • Partner closely with the centralized Employee Relations team to ensure ER matters across warehouse, transportation, and data center populations are surfaced promptly, supported locally, and resolved consistently
  • Serve as the operational point of escalation between site/HR Director-level issues and the centralized ER team, providing operational context and ensuring timely, accurate information flow
  • Support HR Directors in properly identifying, documenting, and escalating ER cases to the centralized team rather than managing resolution independently
  • Monitor labor relations risk and trends at the site level, partnering with the VP, HR and centralized ER/Legal teams on labor strategy, organizing activity, or union-related matters where applicable
  • Champion a positive employee experience for frontline and hourly populations, reinforcing consistent application of ER policies developed centrally

PROGRAM EXECUTION & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PARTNERSHIP
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to ensure staffing strategies meet the high-volume, fast-paced hiring demands of warehouse and transportation operations, including seasonal/peak hiring surges
  • Partner with Compensation to ensure pay practices, incentive programs, and job structures are competitive and consistently applied across operational roles
  • Partner with Learning & Development to drive frontline leadership development, supervisor/manager training, and onboarding programs tailored to operations
  • Ensure consistent rollout and adoption of enterprise HR programs, policies, and initiatives across all sites led by the HR Director team
  • Partner with the VP, HR to execute employee engagement initiatives and action plans across Operations, supporting a positive employee experience and continuous improvement

  • Identify trends across sites/regions and develop targeted action plans to address turnover, engagement, or performance gaps
  • Drive standardization of HR processes and best-practice sharing across the HR Director team

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
  • Drive consistent execution of performance management practices, talent calibration, and accountability across operational leadership teams

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including experience supporting frontline/hourly, multi-site operations
  • Prior experience managing or leading other HR professionals/managers
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law, wage and hour regulations, and HR compliance requirements for hourly/non-exempt populations
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior operational leaders and act as a credible, strategic business partner
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25%+ to warehouse, transportation, and data center sites

PREFERRED
  • Experience in 3rd party logistics (3PL), supply chain, distribution, transportation, or related industries
  • Experience supporting both warehouse/DC and transportation (driver) workforces
