Job description

Risepoint is an education technology company that provides world-class support and trusted expertise to more than 100 universities and colleges. We primarily work with regional universities, helping them develop and grow their high-ROI, workforce-focused online degree programs in critical areas such as nursing, teaching, business, and public service. Risepoint is dedicated to increasing access to affordable education so that more students, especially working adults, can improve their careers and meet employer and community needs.
The Impact You Will Make
The Digital Asset Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, governance, and daily administration of the Risepoint's Digital Asset Management system within the Optimizely DXP platform. This role serves as the internal subject matter expert for DAM operations, ensuring the system supports a growing portfolio of 100+ university partners through scalable structure, consistent metadata practices, and reliable asset workflows.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical proficiency, metadata strategy expertise, and strong cross functional collaboration skills to drive adoption and maximize the value of the DAM ecosystem. Reporting to the Senior Director of Creative Operations, this position will partner closely with creative, content, brand, marketing, and business technology teams to define and enforce asset governance policies, implement taxonomy frameworks, and deliver training programs that empower stakeholders to effectively leverage digital assets at scale.
How You Will Bring Our Mission to Life
What You Will Do:
DAM Platform Administration
• Serve as the primary system administrator for the DAM platform, managing user roles, permissions, and access controls.
• Configure and maintain platform settings, integrations, and workflows in coordination with teams as needed.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and liaise with the DAM vendor on upgrades, bug fixes, and new feature releases.
• Evaluate and implement integrations between the DAM and adjacent tools (CMS, DXP, creative suites, project management platforms).
Taxonomy, Metadata & Governance
• Maintain and evolve the DAM taxonomy in collaboration with Creative Operations and UX/DX leadership.
• Maintain and continuously improve the metadata schema, controlled vocabulary, and taxonomy frameworks to ensure consistent, searchable asset cataloging.
• Establish and enforce DAM governance policies including asset lifecycle management, version control, rights and usage tracking, and archival procedures.
• Define and manage task template libraries for asset upload types (photography, video, paid media, email, etc.)
• Partner with legal and compliance teams to manage licensing, copyright attribution, and expiration flagging for all assets.
• Conduct regular audits of the asset library to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with governance standards.
Asset Ingestion, Organization & Quality Control
• Oversee the ingestion, tagging, and organization of new digital assets submitted by creative, marketing, and external agency teams.
• Develop and enforce upload standards, file naming conventions, and quality control processes to maintain a clean, reliable asset repository.
• Manage the asset request and approval workflow, ensuring timely review and publication of assets. • Establish and maintain RACI for DAM-related activities across internal teams and external implementation partners
Stakeholder Enablement & Training
• Develop onboarding materials, user guides, and training programs to drive DAM adoption across internal teams and external partners.
• Act as the internal subject matter expert and go-to resource for DAM best practices and platform capabilities.
• Host periodic training sessions, webinars, and office hours to support users at varying levels of proficiency.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
• Track and report on DAM usage metrics, adoption rates, search performance, and asset utilization to inform strategic improvements.
• Identify gaps in the asset library and collaborate with creative and content teams to prioritize production of missing or outdated assets.
• Monitor platform capabilities, Optimizely product updates, and DAM best practices to recommend enhancements
• Stay current on DAM industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to recommend platform enhancements and process improvements.
• Lead or contribute to DAM migration projects, re-platforming initiatives, or major taxonomy overhauls as business needs evolve.
What Success Looks Like:
• The DAM platform is the authoritative source for final production assets across all active partner sites, with consistent adoption by creative, content, and marketing teams within the first year.
• Taxonomy, metadata schema, and governance policies are fully documented, actively maintained, and applied consistently across all ingested assets with no material gaps or orphaned asset categories.
• Internal teams can find, retrieve, and deploy approved assets without needing to escalate to the DAM Manager for routine requests, indicating effective training and self-service enablement.
How Impact Will be Measured:
• Legacy asset migration tracked against the established wave schedule, measured by volume of assets successfully ingested with complete metadata tagging and no unresolved compliance flags at each migration milestone.
• DAM adoption rate measured by active user count and upload volume across teams, reported quarterly.
• Governance compliance tracked through scheduled audit results: percentage of assets with complete, accurate metadata fields and valid rights/licensing documentation.
What You'll Bring to the Team
Experience That Matters Most:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing a DAM platform in a corporate, agency, or media environment.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; demonstrated experience administering a DAM platform within an in-house creative or marketing organization is required.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing metadata schemas, taxonomy frameworks, and controlled vocabularies.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale digital asset libraries with thousands of assets across diverse file types.
• Experience administering enterprise DAM platforms
Technical Skills
• Proficiency with DAM platform administration, configuration, and API integrations.
• Strong understanding of metadata standards and file format best practices.
• Experience with DAM integrations across CMS, DXP, project management, and marketing automation tools.
• Comfort working with analytics dashboards and basic reporting tools to surface actionable insights.
• Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite and understanding of creative production workflows.
Soft Skills & Competencies
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative team player with experience working cross-functionally across marketing, creative, BT, and legal teams.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive projects from conception through execution.
Experience That's Great to Have:
• DAM or information management certifications (e.g., Digital Asset Management Society, SLA, or vendor specific certifications).
• Experience supporting multi-brand organizations with complex asset governance needs.
• Familiarity with digital rights management (DRM) tools and practices.
• Experience with Optimizely CMP/DAM or comparable enterprise DAM platforms (Bynder, Widen, Canto, etc.)
• Experience supporting CMP and CMS-connected workflows.
• Exposure to stock licensing compliance and AI-generated asset tracking requirements
