About the role, Your Impact

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Transportation Bridge Engineer III in our Orlando, St. Augustine, or Green Cove Spring, FL office. This position will primarily involve design engineering efforts on various transportation bridge projects for State, County, and Local Agencies. A knowledge of designing bridge improvements with MicroStation and familiarity with structural analysis software is preferred. This team-oriented position will include working with Baxter & Woodman’s diverse disciplines and offices. Projects will be in our Illinois, Wisconsin, Florida, or Texas offices.

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Provide structural design support for our transportation bridge department.
  • Design Bridge, Retaining Wall, Sea Wall, Roadway, Underground Utility, and Infrastructure improvements.
  • Assist senior staff with proposal/project approach writing.
  • Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county, and state clients.
  • Complete engineering plans and specifications using State DOT Standards.
  • Process Federal Aid projects for a variety of clients.
  • Assist project engineers and managers by making significant decisions on a wide variety of tasks required during project delivery.

Education/License Requirement

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with coursework focused on structural engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

  • At least 5 years of relevant job experience working on municipal or highway agency transportation bridge projects.
  • Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation).
  • Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, computer and organizational skills.
  • Work within a team-first culture that encourages individual development and accomplishment of goals

Compensation: The pay range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
