Work from home academic advisors help students with selecting classes, obtaining school services, and career planning. In this role, you do not meet with students in person; instead, you communicate with students by phone, email, and other online platforms from home or another remote location outside of the school campus. As a work from home academic advisor, you discuss the student’s needs or concerns, offer advice on finding solutions or acquiring the services they need, and help to ease their anxiety about their career plan. Many work from home academic advisors are employed by online schools or universities, but some physical schools also offer this position as a way of supporting students who prefer to handle matters online.
