Our Professional Learning team brings that vision to life through coaching, workshops, and field experiences designed to transform how teachers teach and how students engage with the world around them.

Position Purpose

The Professional Learning Coach and Program Evaluator will design and facilitate professional learning workshops and small-group coaching for K-12 educators, both virtually and in person, helping teachers connect their classrooms to the communities around them. You will also play a critical role in translating that work into evidence with measurable program outcomes, building the evaluation systems and data practices that demonstrate impact, drive continuous improvement, and tell the story of what place-based learning makes possible.

Responsibilities Professional Learning Facilitation and Coaching
  • Design and facilitate professional learning place-based education workshops for up to 30 educators, and provide small-group instructional coaching virtually and in person at TSS and at the school partner’s location
  • Design and facilitate field-based learning experiences grounded in engaging, relevant, inquiry-driven, community-connected, and experiential learning approaches
  • Coordinate logistics and implementation for single-day and multi-day field education programs in the Grand Teton National Park area
Program Evaluation
  • Design surveys, interview protocols, observation tools, and other program evaluation instruments aligned to place-based and systems-oriented learning outcomes
  • Build and maintain data collection systems in Qualtrics using embedded data, branching logic, display logic, piped text, and automated workflows
  • Develop reporting dashboards, data summaries, and visualizations to communicate findings to educators, leadership teams, and external stakeholders
  • Manage survey administration timelines, participant communication, and response monitoring across multiple initiatives and partner organizations
  • Lead the collection, management, and analysis of program impact data for grant compliance and continuous improvement purposes
  • Synthesize and communicate clear outcomes for funders and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the broader mission and culture of Teton Science Schools as an active and engaged member of the TSS community
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of K-12 teaching experience, administration experience a plus
  • Master's degree required
  • Wilderness First Responder Certification is preferred
  • Deep knowledge of and experience with innovative instructional approaches, including place-based education, project-based learning, understanding by design, etc.
  • Experience with educational program evaluation and assessment practices
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating professional learning for educators, both in person and virtually
  • Experience leading field education or outdoor learning experiences for youth and/or adult learners
  • A relationship builder who connects easily with new people and cultivates trust with partners and team members over time
  • Navigates ambiguity with good judgment and confidence
  • Ability to simultaneously hold big-picture strategy and program implementation details, helping bring clarity to both
  • Meets goals and can complete projects both independently and in collaboration with others
  • Proficiency with technology, including generative AI, Canvas, Canva, Qualtrics, and Google Workspace
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Able to drive 15-passenger vans for extended periods (up to 10 hours per day)
  • Able to sit/stand/move in a classroom setting for up to 8 hours a day
  • Ability to travel 6-10 times per year, both nationally and internationally, including overnights and on weekends
  • Ability to hike in rugged conditions and in variable weather
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
