POSITION SUMMARY: The Learning & Development Coordinator Intern supports the NFI Learning Institute by assisting with the planning, delivery, and evaluation of training programs, with a strong focus on safety and certification-based learning. This role provides hands-on experience working with internal stakeholders and external training providers to support a safe, skilled, and compliant workforce.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Support business units, Human Resources, and Training & Development Specialists in identifying and coordinating training and development needs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Assist with the design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of standardized training programs and materials, with a focus on safety and certification-based learning.
  • Help coordinate and support the delivery of classroom and on-the-job training, including scheduling sessions, preparing learning materials, and supporting facilitators.
  • Contribute to the development of lesson plans, training aids, and assessment tools using instructional design principles.
  • Assist in tracking training completion, maintaining training inventories, and analyzing basic performance measures and training effectiveness.
  • Support coordination with external training service providers and assist with administrative activities related to training programs.
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned, while adhering to all safety requirements.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing practices and industrial environments is an asset.
  • Understanding or coursework related to instructional design principles.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong planning, organization, and time-management abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a team-based, matrix environment.
  • Proficient with computers and standard workplace software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate with employees across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to workplace procedures.

Standard Hours: - Days, 20 - 30 hours between Mon - Fri 7:30 AM- 4:00PM
