Job description

About SAIC:

SAIC supports the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) by delivering website management and technical support services. As a Junior Web Developer, you’ll play a crucial role in developing and maintaining website functionality, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations, and supporting web-related projects. This position offers full remote work flexibility.

Responsibilities:

1. Frontend Website Development and Maintenance:

-Design and refine site concepts within WordPress.
-Enhance website functionality through HTML, CSS, and JavaScript updates.
-Ensure compliance with DoD regulations, including Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
-Coordinate file uploads to OUSD(R&E) and IR&D Innovation Marketplace websites.
-Perform content updates using WordPress.

2. Backend Website Development and Maintenance:

-Support WordPress CMS development, deployment, and maintenance.
-Collaborate with development teams through GitHub for deployment stages.

3. Technical Support:

-Assist in migrating websites to cloud and other hosting environments.
-Troubleshoot and resolve website issues for optimal performance and security.
-Provide technical support for website-related requests from R&E Front Office and departments.

4. Site Maintenance and Support:

-Archive outdated webpages and integrate new sites or redesigns.
-Manage video uploads and content on DVIDS.
-Update and oversee public, high-level social media accounts.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

-Bachelor’s degree with 2 years or Master’s degree with 0 years in website design and development.
-Proficiency in WordPress for website management.
-Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
-Intermediate experience with GitHub.

Clearance Requirements:

-Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance.
-US Citizenship required.
