The Communications & Marketing Director shapes the public voice, brand identity, and outreach strategy of our church. This leader oversees all internal messaging, public relations, digital platforms, and marketing campaigns to connect our congregation, serve our staff and attract the local community.


Department:  Support
Supervisor: Ministry Operations Director

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement a church-wide communication plan that reflects Rocky’s mission and vision 
  • Maintain a cohesive visual identity, voice and style guide across all Rocky ministries and locations.
  • Design and execute digital marketing strategies to increase church attendance and event participation.
  • Direct, manage, maintain and support all aspects of communication, including printed materials, digital elements, email, website, social media, Rocky app, texting, service/event promotion, google ads and facebook ads. 
  • Create and maintain content for Rocky app. 
  • Track website traffic, social media engagement, and ad performance to optimize future campaigns. 
  • Ensure Rocky’s various ministries’ online presence fulfills ministry goals of reaching online users with key information that is both timely and within brand standards
  • Consult and support internal ministry leads to build effective marketing pipelines for their ministry and events. 
  • Develop the annual Communications budget and assume responsibility for adhering to financial and budget guidelines of Rocky
  • Lead and mentor the creative team, including graphic designers, videographers and photographers, and volunteer teams
  • Manage the procurement, inventory, and distribution of physical marketing and communications materials, including handouts, signage, brochures, event materials, and other branded material(s)
  • Sunday essential staff
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field. Not required but preferred. 
  • Tech savvy, strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
  • Strong understanding of and experience with design, marketing ,copy, social media, and web best practice.
  • Experience in revisions process, conflict resolution and strategy implementation. 
  • Familiarity with Planning Center Online, Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress and ad platforms.
  • Ability to interpret data from Google Analytics and social media insights. 
  • Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task simultaneously with high quality results
  • Spiritual - attendee (or willing to be) of Rocky Mountain Christian Church and adopt Rocky’s Statement of Faith and Staff Values
