Admissions Processor

Reports To: Director of Admissions Operations

Department/Division: Enrollment Management

Status: Non-Exempt

Purpose of the Position:

The purpose of the Admissions Processor position is to review, process and prepare incoming transcripts as well as other forms and documents required for admission and enrollment into the university. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with data, will be detail-oriented, and will be interested in becoming proficient using HCUs CRM Slate.

Essential Functions:

  • Processes applications for all incoming undergraduate students.
  • Responsible for data entry into student tracking system as well as updating and maintaining all student information in appropriate office/university databases (Ellucian Banner and Techsolutions Slate CRM).
  • Inputs and updates student information in order to carry out the communication flow to applicants in an accurate manner.
  • Collects the necessary information for an admission decision to be made.
  • Continuously reviews open files to facilitate their completion.
  • Responsible for alpha portion of records control and maintenance in the student database, correcting and troubleshooting information when necessary.
  • Communicates status of admissions process to various constituents including applicants, admissions counselors, faculty and staff across campus.
  • Works closely with the admissions counselors, providing administrative support concerning the status of the applicant files.
  • Collaborates with different campus constituencies concerning student admissions records.
  • Evaluates academic records and transcripts for all incoming students.
  • Reviews and articulates college coursework previously earned by applicants.
  • Prepares admitted student records for enrollment through continuous data collection and review.

Secondary Functions:

  • Represent the university at admissions events.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as needed or assigned by the Director.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors degree preferred.

Minimum Skills/Aptitudes:

  • Analytical, communication, and office management skills
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and applicable software
  • Ability to gather/organize information from multiple sources into a coherent document
  • Ability to write effectively
  • Ability to take initiative and to set or reorder priorities independently
  • Ability to interact in difficult situations with tact & diplomacy to a diverse population
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, organize, and coordinate multiple tasks.

  • Microsoft Outlook: Intermediate
