Job description

Word Processor (Legal)
Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite / 1 day remote)
Hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
We are actively recruiting for an experienced Word Processor with prior law firm experience to support attorneys and legal staff in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, proficient in legal document production, and comfortable working a hybrid schedule with one remote day per week.
Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, revise, format, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and agreements
  • Ensure all documents comply with firm standards, court rules, and formatting requirements
  • Transcribe dictation and handwritten edits accurately and efficiently
  • Manage document versions, redlines, and document comparisons
  • Convert documents between formats (Word, PDF, etc.) and apply advanced formatting
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive legal information with discretion
  • Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to meet deadlines
  • Assist with filing preparation and document organization as needed
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2+ years of word processing or legal document production experience within a law firm
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including styles, tables, TOCs, and document formatting
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, court rules, and document standards
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
Work Environment
  • Hybrid schedule: four (4) days onsite in Fort Lauderdale and one (1) remote day per week
  • Standard work hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Professional law firm setting with a collaborative administrative support team
