The Wesleyan has been providing personalized healthcare and services to seniors in the Georgetown community for over 60 years. Every day we strive to make a difference in the quality of someoneโ€™s life and we are looking for someone special like YOU to join us in making that difference and making it matter to the residents we serve!

We are currently looking for a Receptionist to work every Saturday and Sunday from 3:30PM-11:30PM within our Independent Living Community at The Wesleyan. The Receptionist will be responsible for providing all residents, guests, and visitors exceptional resident and guest experiences whether in-person or by phone. Outstanding customer service skills, a heart for helping others, especially in a senior living environment, and an enthusiastic passion for finding small and big ways of ensuring others experiences are the very best will be essential to your success as a Receptionist at The Wesleyan.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist with providing information about The Wesleyan to visitors and inquiries over the phone.
  • Answer phones, give information to callers, take messages and transfer calls to appropriate staff.
  • Respond to emergency calls from residents and notify the appropriate persons or agencies as needed.
  • Assist and conduct screening protocols for all residents, teammates, & permitted essential visitors.
  • Responsible for the mail meter, stamps, making copies and other office duty tasks.
  • Ensure cleanliness of front reception areas and lobby. Ensure the front desk has current organization literature.
  • Handle business center requests such as photocopying, faxing, and scanning for residents.
  • Coordinate package pick up and/or delivery to residents.
  • Process and sort incoming business mail.
  • Arrange wake up calls, dry cleaning, additional housekeeping and other services as requested by residents.
  • Assist residents with concierge requests such as restaurant reservations, MapQuest or Google Maps directions, internet research, etc.
  • Perform clerical duties for other staff as assigned.
  • Display announcements, menus, activities, etc. on internal television monitors.
  • Assist marketing department with arranging tours.
  • Take reservations for Activities Department (special events, excursion, classes, etc.) and assist in arranging for transportation.
  • Receive and enter maintenance work order requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist with Guest Room check in/out.

Qualifications:

  • Proven outstanding customer service skills including written and verbal communications with others.
  • Prior receptionist experience, preferably within a senior living environment is helpful.
  • Organization skills and the ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently.
  • Must have the ability to work despite frequent interruptions and with due consideration to residents, visitors, and other staff members.
  • Must have a pleasant telephone manner.
  • Must have typing, word processing and other office machine experience.
  • Proficient in computers and computer programs such as word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook.
  • A service-minded approach to all aspects of the job.
  • A passion for working within a senior living community is a plus.
  • Alignment with and enthusiasm about The Wesleyan's culture and core values.
