Hanvey Engineering & Design is a premier builder of mobile business vans, grooming vans, dental vans and other specialty vehicles. We are a fast growing company with opportunity for your career growth. We are seeking full-time, first shift and possibly second shift Wood Shop Technicians to join our team working in our woodshop. Our company is a fast-paced production facility seeking individual contributors that have demonstrated competency operating a variety of woodshop machinery including table saws, chop saws, and misc. hand power tools. Additional experience operating edge banding, saver, lamination, and CNC milling equipment is also preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Building standard and custom wood components including cabinets, shelves, drawers, and other displays.
  • Installing and connecting hardware, metal edging, pvc edge banding, etc.
  • Recording material and time usage.
  • Applying wood stain to finished products.
  • Quality, accuracy, and the ability to work within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Trouble shoots and solves non-routine problems in nature within their respected field.
  • Utilizing all skills necessary to manufacture and build a variety of products and interior vehicle components to meet specifications, quality and deadlines.
  • Ability to follow instructions in written, oral, and diagram form to prepare cut lists.
  • Adjust and modify existing cabinetry to fit unusual situations.
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Use and maintenance of various hand and power tools and other woodworking equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Normal range of hearing and vision.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • High School Diploma or GED , Trade school or work-related experience
  • Valid Driver's License with good standing MVR.
  • Knowledge of hardwoods and wood products is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail and a focus on exceptional customer service.
  • Candidates must be a motivated individual who can work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
