SCADA Engineering Manager – Water & Wastewater Automation

Direct Hire | Minneapolis, MN | $120k - $170k

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SCADA Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for developing and delivering SCADA systems, operator interfaces, communications networks, and reporting solutions for water, wastewater, utility, and process automation applications.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining engineering management, project oversight, customer interaction, and technical leadership. The ideal candidate has significant controls/SCADA experience, strong communication skills, and experience mentoring and developing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of SCADA Engineers.
  • Assign engineers to projects and manage priorities, workloads, and project deliverables.
  • Establish and maintain SCADA programming, configuration, documentation, and version-control standards.
  • Provide technical leadership on complex SCADA, controls, and networking projects.
  • Oversee development of operator interfaces, real-time databases, reporting, alarming, and communications systems.
  • Support configuration of industrial networks, servers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues that may impact project schedules or performance.
  • Develop training programs and provide ongoing technical mentoring to engineering staff.
  • Drive the long-term roadmap and technology strategy for SCADA systems.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional development of engineering team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field and 10+ years of control system programming/integration experience. Additional experience may substitute for formal education.
  • 10+ years of experience with industrial controls and SCADA systems.
  • Strong experience with water/wastewater automation or other process industries.
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, or managing engineering personnel.
  • Strong customer-facing and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
