Job description

SUMMARY
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Correctly records incoming and outgoing shipments in WMS and/or Orchestrated Beer.
  • Receives finished goods off of palletizer and records completed quantities via WMS handheld scanner.
  • Identifies discrepancies on finished goods production orders and confirms said information with packaging lead(s).
  • Provides packaging department with needed materials (MT glass/cans + pallets in palletizer etc).
  • Maintains method of inventory rotation (first IN/first OUT).
  • Identifies product with labeling information.
  • Identifies loads with shipping information.
  • Posts weights and shipment product detail to Packing Slips and Truck load Maps. Compares both to Order Confirmation and Bills of Lading.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Routes items to appropriate departments.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Build and ships orders using WMS handheld and/or obeer.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operates tier lift truck or uses handtruck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Ensures facility and product security.
  • Complies with all safe operating instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Minimum 1 year Shipping/Receiving or Warehousing experience
  • Minimum 1 year Forklift experience.
  • Proven safety record.
  • Candidates need to be able to lift up to 100 pounds, be able to twist and turn, be able to reach over your shoulders, and work in standing/walking/crouching position at a steady pace.
  • Must be an enthusiastic team player.
  • Experience with an inventory SAP software system is a plus.
  • Experience with using a hand held scanner is a plus.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
