Job Description:
Summary
The WMS Superuser reports to the Senior Logistics Manager and has responsibility for recommending, developing, and maintaining present and future systems that support the facilities operations, logistics, and inventory process. Also works closely with the US Team to ensure Ryder has continuity among all their warehouses.
Essential Functions
  • Maintain proper slotting configuration (Rack and Pick slots) to ensure efficiency in the warehouse
  • Staffing performance management and development of exempt and non-exempt employees
  • Develop and maintain inter-related computer systems that functionally support the facility in all areas of operations including production, maintenance, warehousing, and administration.
  • Provide complete training in the use of hardware and software to users of the systems
  • Maintain JDA WMS logic - Ensure operations is satisfied with the way WMS works in: Allocating, Putaway, Replenishment, etc.
  • Work with operations to streamline processes and troubleshoot and correct any system problems
  • Maintain labor management system and provide data to site leadership as required
  • Assist in monitoring workload and assess evaluation/development plans of direct reports.
  • Responsible for maintaining, trouble shooting, and improving on all interfaces of the WMS, material handling systems, RF devices, and other hardware (printers, label makers, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain system SOP's (archiving, disaster recovery, back-up procedures, system specs, etc.)
  • Complete velocity and layout analysis and associated changes as scheduled
  • Ensure team members acquire necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with business and personal development needs. Data entry with attention to detail and accuracy entering alpha-numeric data.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills Will be communicating with end users for majority of work time. Ability to perform end user system support required
  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision Ability to understand role and pro-actively guide own daily work within that role required
  • Demonstrates customer service skills Able to work with operation group to understand their requirements, issues or opportunities and assist in ways to change the system to address them. required
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills Initial triage and analysis of issues identified by end users required
  • Demonstrates analytical skills required

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business, Technical or another related field required
  • 3 years or more in Experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse or industry related field required
  • 2 years or more in WMS experience required
  • PC and troubleshooting knowledge and skills Expert required
  • Warehousing activities Intermediate required
  • SQL server skills Advanced required
  • Advanced Level Skills in MS Excel such as keyboard short cuts, creating macros, merge, merge queries, templates, table techniques, and working with images and text Advanced required
  • Knowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems Intermediate preferred
  • Knowledge/Experience in transportation environment (i.e., Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch) Intermediate preferred

Compensation Information:
The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:
