Position Summary
The Sr. Shipping Expeditor is responsible for the end-to-end execution of high-priority and expedited orders, ensuring speed, accuracy, and exceptional service. This position serves as a key liaison between Account Managers and warehouse operations, proactively driving communication, resolving issues, and maintaining strict adherence to service level expectations.
In addition to hands-on fulfillment responsibilities, the Sr. Shipping Expeditor leads prioritization efforts, supports process improvements, and sets performance standards for expedited shipping within the warehouse.
Measures of success:
  • Achieve and sustain a 98%+ on-time delivery rate across all shipments
  • Maintain inventory accuracy of 99%+ through rigorous audits and cycle counts
  • Deliver 5-10% annual logistics cost savings through process optimization and strategic sourcing
  • Implement at least two major processes or technology improvements annually that enhance service or efficiency
  • Maintain clear, professional communication via Microsoft Teams, email, and cross-functional channels

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Expedited Order Leadership
  • Own the full lifecycle of expedited and priority orders from allocation through shipment
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for Account Managers on urgent orders
  • Proactively communicate order status, risks, and resolutions in real time
  • Prioritize and sequence expedited workload to meet critical deadlines and customer expectations
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks impacting order flow

Advanced Order Fulfillment
  • Utilize Fulfillment Workbench (or WMS/ERP) to allocate inventory and manage order execution
  • Oversee and perform picking, packing, and verification of high-priority shipments
  • Ensure compliance with all shipping requirements, including carrier selection and service levels
  • Validate accuracy of product, documentation, and labeling prior to shipment
  • Coordinate same-day, overnight, and specialized shipping needs

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Support standard shipping operations during non-peak expedited periods
  • Lead by example in productivity, accuracy, and efficiency on the warehouse floor
  • Recommend and implement process improvements related to expedited workflows
  • Assist in training and mentoring team members on fulfillment and expedited order processes

Inventory & Warehouse Operations
  • Conduct and review cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies tied to expedited orders
  • Support consolidation efforts and warehouse organization initiatives
  • Perform small parts picking and other operational tasks as required

Communication & Data Management
  • Track and report expedited order status using Excel and internal systems
  • Partner with Account Managers, leadership, and warehouse staff to ensure alignment and execution

Qualifications
Required:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years of warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience, with demonstrated experience handling priority or expedited orders
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, order fulfillment processes, and shipping methods
  • Proficiency in warehouse systems (WMS/ERP) and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Preferred:
  • Experience in a lead or senior-level warehouse role
  • Knowledge of carrier systems (FedEx, UPS, LTL, etc.) used for expedited shipping
  • Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, or process improvement initiatives

Work Environment
This position works primarily in a warehouse environment where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety equipment and personal protective gear is required.
This position reports into the site every workday.
