Job Summary:
The Inventory Lead is responsible for overseeing inventory control operations within the distribution center to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company standards. This role leads daily inventory activities, supports cycle counts and audits, and partners with operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels and accuracy. The Inventory Lead serves as a subject matter expert and provides guidance to associates while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily inventory control functions including cycle counting, auditing, and reconciliation of discrepancies
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by investigating and resolving variances in a timely manner
  • Partner with inbound, outbound, and putaway teams to maintain proper product flow and location accuracy
  • Monitor inventory transactions within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for compliance and accuracy
  • Train, coach, and support inventory associates on processes, systems, and best practices
  • Identify root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain organization and accuracy of all product locations, including bulk, pick locations, and reserve storage
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure documentation is complete and accurate
  • Communicate inventory issues, risks, and trends to leadership proactively
  • Assist in developing and improving standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Leadership & Team Support

  • Provide day-to-day direction to inventory team members
  • Act as a point of contact for escalations related to inventory issues
  • Support performance management through feedback and coaching
  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers to meet operational goals and KPIs

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2–4+ years of experience in warehouse, inventory control, or supply chain operations
  • Prior leadership or lead experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and warehouse operations
  • Experience with WMS systems (e.g., Manhattan, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution center environment
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 40–50 lbs as required)
  • Comfortable working with warehouse equipment (RF scanners, forklifts, etc., as applicable)
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends or overtime as needed

The expected pay range is $23.00/hr - $26.88/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
