Faculty - Family Medicine (Battle Creek)

Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine

Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) is seeking an additional OB-optional faculty member for its 6-6-6 Family Medicine Residency in Battle Creek, MI. The program partners with Bronson Battle Creek Hospital and Grace Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center. It is the first state residency fully based in an FQHC, providing residents with full scope family medicine training.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services through resident supervision and develop a personal patient panel.
  • Cover precepting, inpatient, and newborn services; OB is optional.
  • Recruit, supervise, educate, and assess resident physicians.
  • Participate in quality improvement, utilization review, and outcomes management.
  • Participate and lead in committees and initiatives with program partners.
  • Provide high-quality instruction for undergraduate and graduate medical education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program.
  • Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.
  • Eligibility for Michigan license.
  • Dedicated commitment to providing a quality educational experience for residents and medical students.
  • A sense of adventure and willingness to work as a team player.
